5:45 pm
Home Education Expo: Listen to short talks, network with others, have a cuppa and cake. See details...
Cynthia Hancox will give a short talk on “what’s next in your family’s homeschool journey?” She will share insights and ideas for creating your own ‘big picture’ of what you want to achieve, and some practical steps for making it a reality.
Cynthia will be happy to answer questions about creating your own big picture or questions on MOE and exemptions. There will also be other “local experts” to talk to and answer your questions.
Food will be available and this will generally be a time to chat, glean info from experienced homeschoolers, network with others and connect with your community.

Am I Doing Enough?
Siobhan Porter will help you develop confidence in your approach to home education. How much is enough? How can I be sure? This talk will focus on what bases need to be covered (and how), as well as encouraging parents to find their ‘groove’ with home-schooling: what’s a good fit for us, our family, and our philosophy? Emphasis on primary/intermediate level. It’s not as hard as you think to do a great job home-schooling!

The Things I Wish I'd Known
Reflecting on over 20 years of homeschooling her 5 children (now ages 22-30), Cynthia Hancox shares stories of triumphs and challenges, particularly from the tween and teen years, and what she learnt from them. You will be encouraged and inspired to continue your own journey and perhaps try some new things as you teach and mentor your children and ultimately launch them into adulthood.
